The foundation provides partial tuition payments, allowing these young learners to pursue their right to education while learning about their duties as future citizens.

Overview of the Academic Year 2024-2025

Despite the challenging socio-political and security situation across Haiti, schools in the South-Eastern region remained operational throughout the 2024-2025 academic year. This uninterrupted school calendar was a beacon of hope amidst instability.

Unfortunately, the financial burden on families has continued to grow. The overall cost of living increased significantly, and Tuition fees have followed suit. To enroll in school each September, students are expected to pay more than half of their yearly tuition up front—while also managing other essential costs like books, uniforms, and school supplies. For many families with limited or no income, this burden is simply too much to bear.

That is where FONDOP plays a critical role. By stepping in at this crucial juncture, the foundation makes it possible for students to return to school and continue their education uninterrupted.

For the 2024-2025 school year, a total of 80 students received assistance from FONDOP:

6 in kindergarten

18 in primary school (1st through 6th grades)

21 in the third cycle (7th through 9th grades)

29 in secondary education (NSI to NS4 / 10th through 12th grades including the terminal year)

1 in vocational/professional school 5 at university level

Out of these 80 students: 60 were female

20 were male

A detailed breakdown by school and educational level is available on the attached table.

These achievements would not have been possible without the unwavering support of FONDOP’s generous donors and friends. Their contributions have empowered young people with access to education during extremely difficult times.

On behalf of all the beneficiaries and their families, FONDOP extends heartfelt thanks to all supporters. As the 2025-2026 school year approaches, we are already receiving new requests from parents in need of assistance.

We count once again on the continued generosity of our partners to sustain and expan this essential mission.

Bay timounyo chans pou yo jwi dwa yo epi konn devwa yo!

Annual Achievement Report – Academic Year 2024-2025 Founded in December 2009 in Haiti, Fondation Opportunité (FONDOP) is committed to supporting children and students from financially challenged families, primarily in the South-Eastern region of Haiti.
